dear photograph

have you all heard about the new project, dear photograph? since my mom told me about it this weekend, i've been a little bit obsessed (ok, a lot).

with the motto "take a picture of a picture from the past in the present", dear photograph's project is pretty straight forward. find an old picture, return to the scene and take a picture of the picture! now, isn't that brilliant? since anyone can submit a photo (instructions on his website), i've been thinking about all the scenes i could recreate. beyond the pictures, the captions are what really make each photo intriguing as they each make me think about the depth and meaning to each picture. here are a few of my favorites:

"Dear Photograph,
I told you there would be better days."

"Dear Photograph, If I could turn the corner in 1942 and walk right into my mother, I’d ask her “May I walk beside you one more time?”
Love, Your Daughter

"Dear Photograph, Her love was my chemo. I beat cancer. Eric Richter"

"Dear Photograph.
We had nothing, but you gave me everything. Thank you for your never ending love. I love you Dad.

what picture will you recreate?
