life lately

blooms by ali harper

hello, lovelies. i wanted to come share with you today about my life lately. it's been good, fun and rewarding but incredibly hectic. i feel as though i'm coming off the busiest month of my life, and though it's about to slow down a little, we still have a lot going on. i've been trying to take things slowly, and soak in each moment one at a time, but if i'm honest it's been hard. i'm especially trying to be mindful of my body and my baby (since i'm six months along now) and though i'm feeling great, i'm trying not to take advantage of it. quilt market was amazing, and one the biggest milestones in my creative career thus far. i wouldn't trade it for anything, but i'm still trying to recover from the trip and sleepless nights of sewing that led up to it. equally as exciting (but crazy) is that david and i are officially homeowners! today will be the last day in our rental, and we'll be sleeping in our new place tonight (i think). we'll be busy painting, installing new floors and cleaning up the new place all week, then hopefully moving our furniture in by next weekend. we've got family close and lots of friends helping so don't worry (mom), i won't be lifting anything heavy!

though life is crazy and hectic and exhausting, i'm so thankful. thankful for being near family, thankful for a new home and thankful for new opportunities. i'm grateful for being healthy and for carrying a healthy baby. i'm so in love with my husband it hurts. i'm inspired to create new work and thankful for the opportunity to do so. we have a lot going on but it's a fun season in our lives.

thank you so much for hanging out with me this week and thanks for baring with me as i've been a little preoccupied. i'm excited to be back and can't wait to share with you more next week!

  • So good to hear your heart Bonnie. It is truly bazaar how our lives are continually so similar. We too are hoping to move into our new home this weekend. And my belly too has grown over the last few months (: It is so good to hear a similar stress…(even if it’s good stress) and be reminded of how blessed life is.

  • Hi Bonnie! These are all lovely things that are happening. Relax and enjoy, and leave the heavy items to the boys! :) I am very happy for you! This is your year! :)

  • I’m so happy for you, Bonnie! God is good and his
Blessings are tremendous. If I could share one bit
of advice, if you are offered help, take it. Don’t wear
yourself out before your beautiful boy comes, because
you’ll need every once of energy once he’s here. There
is no way to prepare for it, it just is. My Ben is 6 weeks
old, I’m a part time single mom, planning a wedding June
    1st for 185 guests & a super sweet bride & groom, and
running my shop all while caring for this guy with no
friends or family close by. It is amazing what we are capable
of when we have to be. I know you will be a great mum! Just take time for you
when you can, and enjoy every minute & stage. Some things
can wait:) All the best to you! xx Natalie

  • Oh, and just in case you haven’t been told about
the 5 s’s. Go get Dr. Harvey Karp’s “Happiest Baby on the Block”.
    It’s a life saver.

  • So good to hear your heart, and hear that your slowing down this week and taking care of your sweet little boy. I’ve been praying fervently for you this week, the Lord has had you on my heart each morning as I wake up, reminding me to lift you up to Him in prayer. Thinking about you as you guys move, pack, clean, build.. stay away from the paint fumes! Can’t wait to see the house. Loving you dear!

  • praying for you, Bonnie! :) we all care about you and support you 110%! :) take it easy, relax, and enjoy the time you’re in right now – we’ll be right here when you get back :)

  • Hang in there Bonnie and get as much rest as you possibly can before baby gets here. And definitely let others lift the heavy stuff! Take care and listen to your body. It knows best (:

  • You are so wise to not do too much even though you feel great. It can be so hard though. I’m 8 months pregnant and I am trying to be really mindful of taking it easy. So important to take care of ourselves and our babies! xo
