best trees for indoor use

as a follow up to my indoor tree post earlier this week, i wanted to share with you a few of the best trees for indoor use. these 7 trees are best know for their beautiful leaves, ease of care and tendency to thrive indoors. if you're looking to purify your air, they're also great air filters (in addition to these plants)!

1. schefflera tree
also commonly called the umbrella tree, this plant's large glossy leaves create a beautiful tropical display of foliage.

grow: medium to bright light; 60-75°F. keep soil evenly moist.
size: up to 8 feet tall and 6 feet wide.

2.  fiddleleaf fig tree
one of the trendiest indoor trees, it's a popular pick due to it's big leaves, beautiful shape and ease of care.

grow: in medium to bright light; 65-75°F. water when top soil feels dry to the touch.
size: up to 15 feet tall and 5 feet wide.

3. dragon tree
also called a 'madagascar tree', this is a versatile trees and is one of the easiest to take care of! feel free to angle and twist it's branches as it grows.

grow: in moderate to bright light avoid direct sunlight); 65-75°F. water when top soil feels dry to the touch.
size: up to 10 feet tall.

4. rubber tree
a very versatile tree- keep it short and shrub like my trimming it's branches, or let it grow into a large statement piece. either way, it will have big, dark and green shiny leaves that truly make any space beautiful!

grow: in medium to bright light; 60-80°F. water when top soil feels dry to the touch.
size: up to 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide.

5. norfolk pine tree
this tree is a popular choice to decorate indoors during christmas, but can be enjoyed as an elegant houseplant year round.

grow: in medium to bright light; 50-70°F. keep soil moist, but not soggy.
size: up to 10 feet tall.

6. lemon tree
lemon trees serve two purposes: to supply beautiful fragrant blooms and to provide delicious lemons for much of the year! they are hardy plants that can be moved to a patio for the summer and inside for the winter. these trees are always either flowering or blooming!

grow: in moderate light; 55-85°F. keep soil moist, and well drained.
size: up to 8 feet tall.

7. guinea chestnut
also known as the 'money tree', this is an easy tree to take care of. it loves lots of water and thrives in indirect light. perfect for indoors!

grow: in moderate light; 55-85°F. keep soil moist, and well drained.
size: up to 10 feet tall.
