Hello, Ollie Fabrics by Bonnie Christine at Quilt Market (5)

Hi everyone! I returned from exhibiting at International Quilt Market this week and we had such a wonderful time! It’s always lovely to meet many of you and make new friends, as well. I had so much fun setting up this booth to debut Hello, Ollie for Art Gallery Fabrics. This collection will release in July, 2016 and will be printed on luxurious 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton with the most eco friendly GOTS-approved inks in the industry!

Art Gallery Fabrics put together a little Q&A for each of the designers, and I wanted to share them with you as well!

AGF: How would you describe your design style?

Bonnie: Sweet, delicate, ethereal.

AGF: What’s your favorite thing about designing fabrics?

Bonnie: I love how it allows me to express my creativity to it’s fullest. I get to take my inspirations, turn them into designs and then turn the fabrics into even more projects! Seeing my artwork come alive like this is incredibly inspirational.

AGF: What did you do before you started designing fabrics?

Bonnie: I worked for my momma’s quilt shop for about a year right after college, then began blogging and selling on Etsy. This is how I was able to start dedicating myself to building a creative business.

AGF: Can you talk us through a ‘typical’ day in your life?

Bonnie: Yes! Our days are pretty predictable:

8:00 – 9:30: Everyone’s up! Showers, baby baths and general house tidying.

9:30 – 12:00: Ollie’s first nap, coffee for me and breakfast for bear. I usually try to sneak in some work while he eats and plays alongside me.

12:00 – 2:00: Lunch for the babies, errands or playtime outside and prepping for dinner.

2:00 – 5:30: Both babies nap, and momma WORKS. This is when all the magic happens!

5:30 – 9:00: Family time. David comes home, we play outside, cook dinner, eat and hang out together.

AGF: What do you think are the key skills (apart from being an awesome designer!) that have helped you become successful?

Bonnie: Being inspired by the little things, true dedication to my creativity, lots of long days and hard work, and having a support system that believes in me.
