The change in my life after Immersion feels like a seismic shift - taking action toward a lifelong dream, and seeing it begin to happen is transformational, no matter your age.
It's hard to choose one thing I loved most, but the combination of Bonnie's excellent teaching, the community - I've met so many wonderful fellow creatives, and the support from the Q & A's and the team all come together to create a life-changing experience. If there is one skill I still say, wow, I did that, it's learning Adobe Illustrator!
Learning Adobe Illustrator enabled me to create fabric collections in multiple colorways. I'm currently working on the next nature-based collection. I know I can create a color palette, an opt-in as a giveaway, a card, or art print. Knowing that program has opened so many doors!
Before the Immersion Course, I was running my own integrated art class business. I had reached five figures and had a growing waitlist but I felt something was missing. I had handprinted fabric patterns years ago after graduating from The School of Art Institute of Chicago before transitioning into museum work and teaching but recently had dreamt of learning how to create patterns digitally. I struggled with the tech until I found Bonnie Christine and Immersion. It was Bonnie's excellent teaching and her statement that "There is Room for You" that really drew me in.
I was looking for a community that was welcoming, eager to share knowledge, and celebrated everyone's successes.
Before joining, I studied the materials Bonnie shared, watched the videos, and experienced Bonnie's teaching style and knew this was the next right step for me! It's been one of the best decisions I've ever made! The other great decisions were joining Flourish and applying for and participating in the Mentorship.
CREATING ART AFTER IMMERSION:
Since Immersion, in addition to the collections, I started an email newsletter and have almost doubled the size of my list through my opt-ins. I've grown my Instagram 300% by implementing the strategies from Hope Johnson's Class about paid ads. I opened a Society6 POD shop in December of 2020 and a Spoonflower Shop in 2021.
I can't tell you how exciting it's been to see sales of products with my designs and hold the fabric with my patterns.
I'm confident about the foundation of skills, mindset, and consistent work habits I've been building based on all I learned through Immersion!
This upcoming year: I'm looking forward to launching a new website - work begins in January, completing my next collection, creating online teaching opportunities, and working with my new VA's!
Taking the Immersion Course will save you years in reaching your goal of becoming a surface pattern designer. And if you've struggled with tech before - don't worry, you can do this! I did and I'd never opened Adobe Illustrator!
The support is there for you all along the way. Bonnie shares her knowledge and experience as a successful surface pattern designer, online educator, and creative entrepreneur so generously.
You will learn so much more than you can imagine while developing deep connections in an amazing, supportive community.
