Now I am proficient in IIllustrator: I create patterns, but I also created cards, illustrations, and prints from my painting and watercolours, with Illustrator. I am happy I discovered another way to create. I had never done anything digital before.

Before I started my journey with Surface Pattern Design, I was a full-time technical sales engineer, and an artist in parallel, painting in oil and watercolour. I discovered Bonnie Christine through Emily Jefford posts several years ago. I discovered Pattern Design and I never had thought about it as a potential job.

SEIZING THE MOMENT:

Every year, I was saying next year, next year. Until 2021, when I had a loss in my family and thought if it is not now, when will I pursue my dreams? Life is short and tomorrow I can be no more… so I took the class and was very dedicated. I created my first collection and illustration during the time of the course.

I found motivation with my peer group, wonderful ladies to whom I still talk every day.

My patterns are on Redbubble, Spoonflower, and Patternfield. I make no revenue from it yet but I hope this year I can start pitching and partner with shops on prints of my illustrations!
