Working as a graphic designer, I’ve learned early on that the way to keep an edge and stay valuable and relevant to your clients and industry was to continue to learn, expand your talents and abilities, and grow. That’s how I first came across Bonnie’s surface pattern design classes on Skillshare.
I hoped that the Immersion course would do just that – teach me new skills – and that the knowledge would help me grow and grow my business. I questioned at first if the course would be more of a repetition of what was taught in the Skillshare classes.
Taking Immersion however took me through a whole process of rethinking all that was possible to do with my skills, rethinking the ways I could grow and expand through licensing.
As I went through the program, as things became more clear, something clicked and I become more sure of myself, my abilities, … I found direction.
Our kids were able to have a stay at home parent, and our third little guy has always had my husband around until he started school.
It’s different for everyone, but that’s a dream we talked about for years before he was born, and we really desired for all three of them. Really early on into having my husband come home, a Facebook status popped into Memories, and in that post I was talking about that very dream :D
We also got to move cross country, to the Smokies—during a pandemic no less.
The Immersion Course is one of those courses that doesn’t leave you where it found you. It’s no magic bullet (nothing is!), but if you take the tools and use them, if you walk the path, it can change your life in the best of ways, one step at the time.
So many dreams and projects to bring to life this year and in the years to come! … More licensing, connect with more dream clients, *create* more.
It’s during the Immersion Course that things clicked for me and the direction I wanted to go became clear. Forever thankful to have taken this course.
Bonnie keeps alive and re-ignites my love for creating, and her words have inspired and helped me push through imaginary or very real boundaries, failures, and fears, time and time again. Bonnie’s words about working from a place of abundance rather than fear have come to mind many times.
Bonnie’s course has equipped me and given me the belief that I can, and that there is room for an Elena Wilken collection of fabrics out there on store shelves, and on sewists’ tables. I am thankful beyond words, thankful for all the research time it saves, and for a teacher who shares her knowledge and the tools for us to succeed so freely.
