Immersion provided me with the confidence I didn’t know I was missing. I have been a graphic designer for 8 years, I learned so much about Illustrator and feel so much more confident in my skills. Flourish has provided a community of artists, creatives, and surface pattern designers that are so open and welcoming.

FINDING MY CREATIVE SPARK

Before discovering Surface Pattern Design, I was a working graphic designer. While it is a fine job, I was bored, uninspired, and not feeling very creative. I discovered Bonnie by chance and took one of her free courses – Create a Career in Surface Pattern Design and was hooked. At the time I didn’t realize that I was craving some creative direction. Looking back, it was a no-brainer to sign up.

While an investment at the time, I have gotten so much out of the Immersion Course. Even though I have been a graphic designer for years, I learned SO much from this course. On top of learning new Illustrator skills – I learned valuable lessons about creating a collection, running a creative business, and making an income on Surface Pattern Design work.

In the year since finishing the course, I have completed two collections and halfway through my third.

I have created a passive income by selling products through a POD site. I am just about to launch my patterns on Spoonflower and I’m finalizing my portfolio to send to companies for licensing! I still work full time but taking Immersion has given me a direction and showed me the possibility of becoming a full-time surface pattern designer! Immersion provided me with the creative confidence I didn’t know I was missing but I am so happy to have it!
