Immersion inspired me to believe in myself, pursue my dreams, and be confident that I can make my living as a creative.

PATH TO IMMERSION:

Before discovering Surface Pattern Design, I worked several full-time creative jobs and did a lot of freelance work.  My background is in Printmaking and Art History, and after leaving undergrad, I found myself designing and building store displays for Anthropologie and creating sculptures and paintings for extra income. After finding that I had a financial cap doing one-off creations, I took a job designing stores interiors for Whole Foods Market. 

I had been doing this for a few years when I realized I just missed creating for myself and sharing that joy with others when selling my work. This is about the time that I found the Immersion Course. 

As a home sewer and lover of print and pattern, it felt like I had found the entryway to something that really fit me and could combine all of my creative passions into a business that I could scale and grow.  

Immersion was an incredible experience: I learned so many technical skills, and began to trust myself and my creative voice. 

This brings me to now: I am working on building out a side hustle so that one day, I can step away from my job and work for myself as a creative. I am taking all measures to save money, hustle, and grow to expand my skills and abilities to become an entrepreneur. 

I am eager to take Immersion again this year to have access to a new community, new videos and bonus modules, and a new creative working group to share and engage with.  I hope to share this incredible experience with every creative I meet.

Immersion was life-changing for me, and I know it will continue to impact my life as I level up and begin more freelance work. To anyone unsure about taking the leap: DO IT!

You will grow personally and professionally, and see yourself in a whole new light.
