I am an art educator with a degree in Graphic Design. I created designs for baby decor and for both of my daughters when they were pregnant at the same time. I began searching for more information on surface pattern design—and I found Bonnie and Immersion.
Designing patterns was something I loved, but I knew nothing about the industry—I felt a bit intimidated diving into something I knew little about.
After taking Immersion I developed organizational skills that were specific for the business I wanted to have. I learned techniques in Adobe Illustrator when I thought I already knew Ai, and most importantly I learned that there was a place for my designs in the world.
Immersion is very organized and gave me the guidance I needed to set goals and start to move toward my big goal of retiring from education. I was able to create enough designs to start an online shop, in the first 6 months I was featured on the POD site I use in their monthly Girl Boss article. I have recently completed 2 summer collections; I pitched last week!
I would tell someone on the fence, Immersion was an important investment that I made in myself as a designer and a businesswoman. It gave me the skills and confidence I needed to set my goals…
