I came into this course with some Adobe experience but really not enough to start SPD. I had a business idea ready to go but needed skills to go with it! I previously was doing marketing for my husband’s medical business but was really craving doing something creative. That coupled with my business idea and seeing Bonnie’s ad on Facebook pushed me to sign up.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT IMMERSION:
I can’t really single out what skill I most cherish from the course. Yes, there were a lot of things I already knew, but boy I picked up on so many other things! Some skills I need to revisit and practice more and more, but that’s the great thing about this course is that I can do this whenever I want! So I would definitely still recommend this course for people with some background knowledge of Adobe.
The videos are fantastic to be able to stop, replay over and over again. The ability to search keywords in the videos is great. I loved being able to submit questions for the Q&A sessions, and having questions answered within each module.
CREATING AFTER IMMERSION:
In September 2021 I launched my business! I create Australian-themed Christmas wrapping paper and gift tags. While I have collaborated with some artists to create some single images, I have the skills to put these into a pattern, change the colors, and the end image. I also created some of my own illustrations/patterns for the collection. My collection has been well received and I was happy with my sales for the first year. Looking ahead, I’m currently working on non-Christmas designs as well as a 2022 Christmas collection, all Australian themed, and will investigate wholesale opportunities.
