I love how the Immersion Course respected women and encouraged us to be business owners.
Before Immersion, I worked mostly in the mental health field. I was starting to take my fashion design skills more seriously and recently finished my 2-year degree in fashion. I was gaining attention as a swimwear designer and I was thinking about different skills I could develop.
The pandemic was hard on me financially. I still had an older version of Adobe Creative Suite on my computer, so I took the leap and applied to the scholarship program!
Immersion taught me so many ways that I could show up as a fashion and design creative. It really spoke to my entrepreneurial spirit.
Unfortunately, I had a knee injury and surgery that had me down for the months right after finishing Immersion, but these new skills gave me something to focus on and distract myself from being hurt.
I really cherished learning how to make seamless repeating patterns. I used my skills to create my own swimwear fabric for the Fall 2021 NYFW collection. I had so much pride in what I created. It was my most well-received show in terms of audience and media. I loved the editorial photos so much.
